MEDIA - AI against fake news
On the media side, this is the big concern of the moment: fake news, “the evil of the century” has recently been headlined by some newspapers…
But maybe the solution will soon be there!? Indeed, Google – him again! – perhaps has the parade.
We knew (article here, some time ago) that Google was working on A.I., Artificial Intelligence, in particular to improve its search algorithms and its Home Box.
Searching for and offering information that is false, selecting it, highlighting it, it’s not great.
Certainly, there was already the brand of trusted site but not necessarily reliable. There, Google goes further: it sifts through the sites and has them analyzed by AI. The basic principle, to summarize, is to check whether the information is not contradictory with that of other trusted sites. Well, for the moment, it is the majority fact that prevails, and the criterion of trust of the sites. And this only concerns, for the moment, written information: neither images, nor videos, even less sound.
But the principle is there. It lacks – but this is not its domain – the same monitoring for social networks. The idea should then undoubtedly gain ground because this is where the pollution is greatest and action is most imperative.
What will become of me if I only make fake news?...
