MATHEMATICS: we go around in circles, we go around in circles ...!?
No, the Earth is not flat but round, and it turns around the Sun, the parallels meet on the horizon, the universe would be curved, ... In short, everything is round, spherical, rotates, undulates ...
So, a geometry with straight lines, parallels, short Euclidean, even orthonormal, it is not common in our world.
Obviously, this is not really new: Maxwell, Riemann and others had already worked the question.
There, the work of the Institute of Applied Mathematics of Angers, completing those of the Sorbonne (previous article on mathematical pointillism), go further. They show that only this mathematics is totally general and coherent. In short, everything is just points, spheres, rotations, spirals, waves, sinusoids.
Better, in this geometry, there are only 3 possible "dimensions" (Euclidean meaning of the term) + 1 "imaginary" dimension (in the mathematical sense).
Strange anyway, right? Our 3-dimensional space and time?
