WORLD - The Red Helmets are coming!
That's it, it's done: an "army" of red helmets will finally see the light of day! After the 2010 call, following the earthquake of Haiti, the Haitian President and a former French minister, the UN finally voted to create a humanitarian force, a specific body of Red Helmets.
For some time now, as a result of global warming, natural disasters have multiplied. Often, they reach poor countries that do not have the technological and financial means to cope.
Its role will be to ensure the first intervention, which must be ultra rapid, then the coordination of humanitarian agencies and other NGOs, and finally ensure the police to avoid looting and supervise, in coordination with the state concerned, the followed by help.
The advantage of this formula is that there will no longer be reluctance of affected countries vis-à-vis any country involved.
And we have waited so long for what should have been one of the essential and priority missions of the United Nations: man against Nature! ...
