CLIMATOLOGY - Worse than we thought
Global warming has become the number 1 concern in France but also in the world. The alert had been given by the IPCC, but, despite this, the human reaction is slow to express itself, especially to materialize. In short, we are falling behind, we are falling behind.
And, according to the latest study by experts, it's worse than we thought. In fact, this global warming would not be linear but… exponential! Warming would accelerate warming! Simple examples, among many others, the melting of permafrost which releases methane, a greenhouse gas, forest fires which release CO2 instead of absorbing it…
And, above all, this warming is proving to be very brutal, more brutal than the alternation of “natural” periods of ice and warming, which is why scientists rather speak of climate change. A bit – but still less abrupt – than the fall of a huge asteroid on Earth. In short, current weather events will multiply and become more and more intense and brutal.
And the human species may not escape unscathed, in the same way as many other living species. It would already be too late...
And nothing to do with what was said at the time: “there are no more seasons, my good lady! That’s Sputnik’s fault! ".
