PROSTHESES - the first olfactory prosthesis for the general public
You have no doubt noticed that, for a few years now, opticians have also been offering hearing aids? Whether it's Optical Center, Krys, General Optics and others, everyone's got it on.
But for the olfactory prostheses, for the moment nothing!
And if
, Acuitis is embarking on this niche.
It must be said that studies, experiments, have made good progress and even, therefore, succeeded, henceforth allowing industrial production.
Thus, in partnership with Aryballe Technologies, and following various American university studies, a solution has been developed to treat anosmia: the loss or absence of smell.
The problem has been brought to the fore following the latest pandemic and post-COVID symptoms. An awareness, a new concern, even for those who had lost their sense of smell for any other reason. There is now a demand, an expectation.
Basically, the principle is to restore the electrical stimulation of the olfactory bulb from the nose. But not only. The system is much more sophisticated and should be accompanied by "training".
The French Association for Anosmia and Agueusia is happy about it. It even seems that it would improve the taste!? ...
