COMPUTING - The end of the desktop PC
As if by tacit agreement - but it was not - in a matter of months, the various manufacturers of personal computers abandoned the manufacture, and development, of stationary PCs. PC but Mac too!
And we can see the future: little by little, the laptop PC market has grown in importance and is now supplanting the desktop PC market.
The movement has definitely established itself following the health crisis and the development of teleworking. And we see the next step appear: the tablet.
Always the same trend: towards miniaturization, portability (in the sense of displacement). This phenomenon does not only concern computers but also, already, the telephone. And it's not over…
It seems to be a tidal wave which means that it is no longer the man who moves towards the machine but the reverse: the man becomes more and more sedentary, locally, and it is the object that becomes mobile, adapting to Man.
The Internet has a lot to do with it and therefore the transfer of information. We see it by the relocation of studies, medicine ...
This should be accompanied by human relocation: there is no point in having to be close to machines concentrated in metropolises. Living in the countryside hummm ...
