OPEC becomes OPEES
OPEES has just been created in RIAD this weekend. You will have to get used to this new acronym. OPEES: Organization of the Countries Exporting Solar Energy.
In fact, OPEC still exists but survives instead. The fossil fuel reserve is running out or, more accurately, the operating costs are getting higher and higher.
Gradually, the burning deserts of North Africa and the Middle East are spreading gigantic surfaces of photovoltaic plates. The pipelines are replaced by high-voltage power lines ... And oil gives way to renewable energy under the force of electricity.
But then, by natural chance, most of the oil-exporting countries turn out to be also countries where the deployment of solar panels is the easiest (flat areas, sparsely populated, geologically stable) and the most profitable (long lasting intense sunlight).
Following global warming, the temperate regions are trying to implement this type of energy production but competition will be tough.
